I plan on creating a number of community based websites which will mainly focus on the local business sector of the West Rand. I’m operating from home in Witpoortjie (Roodepoort) and it only makes sense that I also service this community online, while I still maintain my other websites which are nationwide focused.

This is a classified ads website which will allow West Rand residents to sell their unwanted goods on the internet free of charge. Similar to the popular JunkMail anyone can list their goods for sale.

I’ll be monetising it through google adsense for now and with an improved uptake I’ll consider other forms of revenue generation, however I don’t intend charging users.

Right now the template is ready, however I’m yet to decide on the header layout. I’ve registered a twitter account and you can follow on www.twitter.com/westrandads. Next I need to also create a facebook page which will help me recruit users based in the West Rand.

I’ll use local community newspapers to advertise the website.
